Half Mile Houseboat

Anna Lou Houseboat Hull Project

Half Mile Houseboat - The Big House Clear Out

This project was done in quick time by Marine Fabrication for the client as her existing houseboat was sinking due to age and thickness of steel. Until we came along she had a bilge pump in the pontoon sucking water out 24 hours a day every day. We built a 9m x 8m hull made from mild steel for her split into to 2x sections which were later bolted together on site. Once bolted together the original houseboat was tugged to where our hull was and lifted onto its new hull and then towed back to its mooring where it is sitting now.

What was an added bonus to showcase our efforts was that our work featured on the Channel 4 in the Nick Knowles program - The Big House Clear Out.

View the Gallery where some still images show the steps towards completion along with a short video.
